FIELD MANAGER

Location: Warrington

We are recruiting a Field Manager working for Freedom Group of Companies in the Civil Asset Management Division, based in Warrington.

Accountabilities:-

SITE MANAGEMENT
•Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the standards, policies and procedures of Freedom Group and its customers.
•Maintain own competence in accordance with legislative changes and customer requirements.
•Assist in costing schemes for quotation as required.
•Manage all customer-related processes in line with Freedom Group’s Integrated Management System.
•Monitor and report on progress of work to the Project Manager, and others as required.
•Ensure that Sites are managed in accordance with issued policies and procedures.
•Liaise with third parties for day to day site access and material storage areas.
•Assist with management and resolution of customer complaints.

HEALTH & SAFETY
•Provide immediate, authoritative, guidance and discipline on SHE matters.
•Ensure that employees on site conform to Freedom Group’s SHE policy and issued safety instructions.
•Ensure site safety and daily risk assessments are carried out.
•Actively monitor teams within your line management responsibility (under LQP.407).
•Ensure that risk assessments and method statements are carried out and followed and that staff conform to all instructions.
•Ensure that accidents and near misses are suitably reported, recorded and investigated and that remedial action is carried out promptly.
•Report any concerns regarding SHE to the SHE team and your manager.

PLANNING & ORGANISATION
•Take overview of work activities to be completed, and co-ordinate use of all resources including people, materials and equipment for effective and timely completion of work.
•Ensure resources are delivered to appropriate sites in accordance with project plans.
•Liaise closely with Project Manager/Assistant to understand and manage priorities arising.
•Ensure chargehand has job instructions, plans etc.
•Take care of, and maintain in good working order, issued vehicles, tools and equipment.
•Complete appropriate records in an accurate and timely manner. E.g. site measurement, work record sheets, risks assessments and site safety inspections.
•Manage projects competently to time and budget. Specifically, assist with invoicing completion of switching schedules and outage planning

PEOPLE
•Work with teams to ensure safe, effective and efficient implementation of Freedom Group’s operations.
•Ensure that staff timesheets, expense sheets and vehicle log sheets are completed accurately.
•Supervise teams: give sound advice and work instructions according to the type of work being undertaken; manage performance of teams such as time keeping and productivity.
•Monitor and report on the performance of teams to Project Managers.
•Take charge in emergencies ensuring appropriate procedures are followed.
•Induct and support new employees/team members, review performance and identify training needs of staff reporting to you.
•Liaise with appropriate people to ensure the smooth running of projects, e.g. site managers and supervisors, subcontractors, clients, customers, landowners, suppliers and colleagues.
•Contribute to wider team: advise, share knowledge and experience based on expertise.

•Identify and implement areas of improvement in Freedom Group’s processes and operations.
• Ensure working practices and processes are followed.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
ONC or equivalent in relevant engineering discipline (or demonstrable level of achievement through experience)
Current driving licence
Good health & safety awareness
Minimum of IOSH Managing Safely qualification
Qualification in Project Management
IT literacy – user level
NRSWA Supervisor
Manual handling
Working at height
City & Guilds 2322
DNO Authorisation
Safe Digging Techniques
Environmental awareness
CDM awareness
Site Management Safety Training Scheme


QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED
HNC or equivalent in relevant engineering discipline (or demonstrable level of achievement through experience)
Experience in project management role
Qualified in Emergency First Aid
