HGV GRAB TRUCK DRIVER/ENGINEER

Location: Croydon

Job Purpose:

To achieve the department objectives in line with the corporate strategy and vision for which the job holder is directly responsible and continuously improves performance. To assist the Operations Manager in the delivery of Grab truck operations for the London South Waste Network Contract.

Principal Accountabilities / Objectives:

Ensure that daily recording of accurate site records is carried out to enable the Scheme Specific job Cost Monitoring and CVR are maintained.
Daily recording of PITA information from gangers and weekly review with Assistant Area Managers / Senior General Foreman.
Check that all sites are clear on completion of the work.
Ability to work with others to deliver results and provide support
To complete the required records of work carried out in a timely and accurate manner. For the Health and Safety on all the sites under his/her control
Risk assessments to be filled in of all risks known
Permits to dig filled out and put on registers
NCR Reporting on a weekly basis
Conduct Daily and weekly vehicle To carry out a range of emergency and contracted services to company standards, ensuring that customer requirements are met.
To operate in accordance with H&S and Quality procedures
To submit all work documentation fully and accurately to ensure swift payment and job costing analysis
To maintain standard of company service vehicle and equipment
To assist in the generation of business by submission of leads.
Ability to operate in a lone working environment safely and effectively.
Completion of LGV paperwork and log/record books.

Job Content / Main Tasks:

Duties include - Working on busy roads in & around London, performing muck away duties & delivering aggregate.

Competency: Skills/Knowledge/Qualifications:

LGV CLASS 2 GRAB DRIVER
Must have a valid Class 2 Driving licence, a current in date HIAB ticket, DIGI-CARD and relevant experience.
Duties include transportation of solid wastes, transportation to registered disposal sites, attending emergency callout's for flooding and sewer problems.
We operate a 24/7 service, you will be included on a call out rota to include weekends and nights, which requires flexibility.
Technical knowledge of drain and pipe cleaning techniques preferred.
Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation relevant to our industry
Good communication skills
Good customer care skills
Good numeracy, literacy, oral and written skills
Good influencing skills
Basic IT skills
Conversant with the operation of manufacturers fault finding devices
Understanding of time cost and quality constraints
Ability to familiarise tenants with operation of their system
Accurately record results and to populate certificates or notices
Customer care awareness including vulnerability and diversity
Have at least three years drainage maintenance experience.
