LOGISTICS COORDINATOR

Location: Normanton

ROLE PURPOSE: To complete the logistics of electrical based projects to time and standard as instructed based at Tingley

Accountabilities
•1. Delivery - Undertake the following

Effective management of the provision of materials, welfare and plant equipment on contracts from order receipt to customer handover, ensuring all items are delivered to programme, within budget and in accordance with customer requirements, including:

•Resource Management and Planning to expedite materials, plant and equipment

•Budget Control

•Procurement & Expediting

•Quality Management

•Health and Safety Management

•Work closely with tendering/estimating function to ensure lessons learnt and operational experience are reflected in Freedom tender proposals.

2. Health and Safety
•Maintain awareness of Freedom H&S policy and rules and keep up to date on changes that impact your role.

•Adhere to Safety Rules, instructions and standing orders of Freedom and Freedom’s customers.

•Ensure requirements of CDM Regulations are applied in full

•Ensure risk assessments and method statements are completed for all work to be undertaken

•Ensure site audits are carried out in a regular and consistent manner

•Promptly record all accidents and near misses.

•Proactively manage H&S issues & concerns, working closely with Design,Field and Site Management staff to ensure safety by design and an accident and incident free culture is maintained .

3. Planning and organising
•Work with Projects teams on the production of project programmes and to ensure that all project objectives can be completed to customer requirements.

•Develop strategy to deliver and improve on budgeted margins

•Expedite delivery of materials and services to ensure programme dates and milestones are achieved

•Be creative in finding solutions to resource / schedule problems to maintain project. Programme

•Proactively report resource concerns at appropriate times in project programme to avoid short notice problems

4. People/Team work
•Lead the construction team by displaying clear thinking and identification with project objectives

•Work very closely with functional managers to ensure project objectives are understood and met.

•Work closely with design, field and technical staff to keep all team members continually and fully appraised of project targets and objectives

•Contribute to your team, sharing knowledge and experience.

•Liaise with colleagues across the Freedom organisation to ensure effective completion of tasks.

•Represent Freedom to customers and individuals from other companies.

•Liaise with the public to ensure smooth implementation of work, always handling people with respect and patience.

5. Quality
•Aware of Freedom’s approach to Quality and how this applies to your role.

•Complete all work to high standards.

•Identify and recommend improved ways of doing things.

•Ensure working practices and processes are followed.

Qualifications
•Degree or equivalent qualification, lesser qualification with experience

•Technical and Contract Management knowledge through training or education.

•Good general education – must be numerate and have good command of business language.

Experience
•Prior experience in other business functions, eg engineering, field management, commissioning.

•Commercial Experience – Contract Negotiations, Basic Finance knowledge
