David Owens

Cinven acquired EnServe in a public-to-private transaction for approximately £360 million during December 2010.

Having worked on the deal with Cinven, David was appointed CEO of EnServe during December 2010 following completion of the acquisition, a position held until March 2013 when he became EnServe Non Executive Director.

David has significant expertise across the competitive and regulated utility and energy sectors, most recently serving as Chief Executive of Thames Water, a position he held for three years between 2006 and 2009.

Previously, David was CEO of 24 Seven Utility Services the Joint Venture between Eastern and London Electricity providing services to maintain the integrity of the power distribution network serving 25% of the UK’s population. Prior to that he was Managing Director of Eastern Electricity Networks.

Before joining Eastern Electricity, David spent 28 years in the competitive utility services sector first with GEC and then with ABB where he held a number of executive management positions.

David is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical Engineers.
